A number of residents from various parts of the capital are complaining about the shortage of drinking water.
They state that water is available through their taps only once a month and are urging officials to solve this problem by drilling deep wells.
Tofan, a resident of the eleventh district, said: "The water problems in this area are severe because the tap water only comes once a month. Sometimes we have to buy water, and other times we fetch it from higher places."
Some residents of the 315 area of Kabul also complain about the poor quality of drinking water provided by certain private companies.
Delawar Khan, a resident of the area, said: "We face many water problems; tap water comes only once a month."
Jamshid, a resident of the Khwaja Bughra area, said: "We brought water barrels, but I don’t know when it will be my turn to fill them."
Meanwhile, the Kabul Water Supply Authority says it has plans to address the water shortage in the capital.
Shafiullah Zahidi, the head of the Kabul Water Supply Authority, said: "To address the water shortage in Kabul, we have three types of plans: short-term, medium-term, and long-term."
Previously, some residents of the capital had also complained about the shortage of drinking water and repeatedly asked the interim government to seriously address their challenges.
