In an interview with BBC Pashto, Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting Foreign Minister, said that the world has begun to engage practically with the Islamic Emirate, noting that 39 of its embassies and consulates are currently active in various countries.
He also urged Western nations, which he believes have fallen behind in this process, to begin their own engagement with the Islamic Emirate.
"The issue of official recognition is a political matter, but the progress we have achieved in the practical aspects of what recognition entails is substantial," Amir Khan Muttaqi said.
In another part of the interview, Amir Khan Muttaqi highlighted that the Islamic Emirate's fight against terrorism over the past three years is unparalleled compared to the last 45 years in the country. He also described the Islamic Emirate's efforts against narcotics as decisive and called on the international community to fulfill their responsibility in assisting Afghan farmers.
"I don’t know what is considered a concrete step, but what we have accomplished in the past three years hasn’t been done in the last 20 years, or even in the past 45 years. The U.S., NATO, and their allies were here, various groups existed, ISIS grew and established major centers, they took over areas in Nangarhar and Jawzjan, but now all of them are gone. In these three years, we have not caused harm to any country."
Salim Paigir, a political analyst, said: "Terrorism and narcotics are not just Afghan problems. These are international issues and should be resolved with the help of the international community."
Regarding the execution of Afghan citizens in Iran, the acting Foreign Minister mentioned that discussions have been held about transferring prisoners back to Afghanistan, and the interim government has asked Iran to stop executing Afghan citizens.
