Aripov: 'Positive Decision' Made on Start of Afghan Envoy in Tashkent

Uzbekistan's prime minister, Abdulla Nigmatovich Aripov, in a meeting with Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, stated that a positive decision has been made regarding the official commencement of duties by Afghanistan's new ambassador to Uzbekistan, and this matter will be announced soon.

The Economic Affairs Deputy Prime Minister's office, in a statement, reported that Aripov and Baradar, along with delegations from both sides, discussed various aspects of strengthening relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, particularly the initiation of various economic and commercial projects.

According to this statement, Abdullah Aripov also mentioned that their trade relations with Afghanistan are expanding, and they seek to further enhance these relations. He conveyed that, according to the President of Uzbekistan, without engaging with the current government of Afghanistan, positive results cannot be achieved.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, expressing gratitude for the positive and realistic stance of the President of Uzbekistan, emphasized that facilitating visa issuance for Afghan traders is crucial for the expansion of trade and economic relations.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Abdullah Aripov, in a meeting with Amir Khan Muttaqi, expressed Uzbekistan's desire to expand diplomatic relations with Afghanistan.

Additionally, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, a few hours after the arrival of Uzbekistan's Prime Minister in Kabul, announced in a statement that five agreements have been signed to boost trade between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.

According to the statement from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Abdullah Aripov has come to Kabul to participate in a bilateral meeting and trade relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, as well as to inaugurate an exhibition of Uzbekistan products and goods.
