Passport Directorate to Open New Central Bank Branches at Three Centers

The General Directorate of Passports has announced discussions with private banks to facilitate the payment of passport fees through these banks.

Noorullah Patman, the spokesperson for this directorate, said that efforts are being made to establish branches of the Central Bank in three new centers.

Noorullah Patman said: "We will also open a branch of the Central Bank of Afghanistan in our three new centers to provide services to the citizens. Additionally, we have discussed with several private banks as well."

Although the process of passport distribution has accelerated over the past month, some passport applicants are calling for an increase in bank branches to facilitate the payment of passport fees.

Naseer Ahmad, a passport applicant, said: "Right now, our problem is with the banking system. Yesterday, I went to Qala Zaman Khan, but there was no bank, so I had to go elsewhere to deposit my money."

Another applicant, Irfan, said: "If more branches are established, one of the biggest problems of the people will be solved, because currently, one of the biggest issues is that people go to the bank but cannot even get a turn."

According to statistics from the Passport Directorate, 180,000 passports have been distributed across the country in the past twenty days.
