5,000 Complaints Addressed in Just Over Year: MoVV

Officials from the Ministry of Vice and Virtue announced that over the past year, more than 5,000 of nearly 10,000 registered complaints have been effectively addressed.

During a press conference presenting the ministry's annual report, key achievements were highlighted, including securing women’s access to inheritance, preventing violence against women, halting the sale of women, destroying musical instruments, and arresting sorcerers.

Mohibullah Mukhles, the Director of Planning and Legislation, also stated that more than 21,000 musical instruments were destroyed, and nearly 1,000 amulet-makers and sorcerers were arrested and handed over to judicial authorities.

"The Ministry received 9,808 complaints, of which 5,486 have been resolved. Among 13,391 individuals involved in immoral activities, 7,204 were detained for 24 hours and 4,737 others were held for 72 hours as disciplinary punishment," he added.

According to the officials, the Ministry has successfully prevented over 300 cases of forced marriages and nearly 300 cases of women being sold. Additionally, more than 1,000 enmities have been transformed into friendships through the ministry's mediation, and in over 700 cases, women who were deprived of their inheritance rights were able to benefit from their rightful inheritance.

Mohammad Faqir Mohammadi, the Deputy Minister for Policy and Technical Affairs, said in the program: "We have made efforts in the past, are making efforts now, and will continue to strive in the future to ensure that women's Islamic rights are upheld with the cooperation of the people."

The Ministry also reported that over 13,000 individuals involved in immoral activities were punished as a corrective measure, and more than 1,000 were referred to judicial authorities.

Officials from the Ministry of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice also provided information that nearly 300 underage individuals have been removed from the ranks of the Islamic Emirate, and 90% of visual, auditory, and print media broadcasts have been reformed.
