Scott Smith, the political head of UNAMA, in a meeting with Head of Office of the Deputy Political Prime Minister, stated that UNAMA will soon submit a report on Afghanistan to the Security Council.
Zakirullah Zakir, the Head of Office of the Deputy Political Prime Minister, has urged UNAMA to prepare and present its report based on the current realities of Afghanistan. During this meeting, Zakir said that human rights are upheld in Afghanistan, and all laws are formulated within the framework of Islam.
Hamdullah Fitrat, the Deputy Spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, regarding this meeting, stated: "Mr. Smith mentioned in this meeting that the atmosphere of trust has been established between the Islamic Emirate and UNAMA and expressed hope that the relations and interactions between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and other countries will also be further strengthened."
According to the Deputy Spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, Zakir added in this meeting that the Islamic Emirate respects the work of foreign diplomats, and they should also consider the current principles in Afghanistan.
Mohammad Idris Zazi, a political analyst, told TOLOnews: "It is better for the Islamic Emirate to approach the world through its policies, decrees, and orders to eliminate existing ambiguities and establish connections."
Javid Momand, another expert on UNAMA's activities, said: "UNAMA does not make realistic decisions regarding Afghanistan because it is influenced by major powers."
In his meeting with the political head of UNAMA, Zakirullah Zakir also added that meetings and dialogues help bring the Islamic Emirate closer to the international community, and UNAMA should also reflect the realities of Afghanistan in its reports.
