Abdusalom Azizov, the Head of Intelligence and Borders of Uzbekistan, at the general meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, described Uzbekistan's cooperation with Afghanistan in the fight against terrorism as important.

The head of intelligence and borders of Uzbekistan also highlighted the exchange of information and coordinated and consistent activities between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.

He praised the Islamic Emirate's fight against ISIS and added that it is necessary for the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to have a joint fight against ISIS.

At the meeting, Abdusalom Azizov said: "The Afghan government, within the framework of its capabilities, is fighting international terrorism. Afghan forces are at the forefront of the fight against ISIS and have achieved clear results. Therefore, Afghan partners should not be left alone in this matter. Based on the principle of security integration, it is necessary to defeat the enemy together."

The Director of the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Ruslan Mirzayev, also said at the meeting that the security situation in Afghanistan is improving.

Mirzaev said: "With the establishment of the new government in Afghanistan, security issues have changed in a positive direction. Serious efforts have continued by the new government in this regard, all areas are under control, and they are changing."

At the same time, the Islamic Emirate welcomed the stance of the head of Uzbekistan's intelligence and added that ISIS has been crushed in Afghanistan.

Hamdullah Fitrat, the deputy spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, said: "It is a reality that the Islamic Emirate has crushed the phenomenon of ISIS and eliminated the group's capabilities, and has also made serious efforts in the cultivation, production, and trafficking of drugs. The Islamic Emirate is committed to bilateral cooperation and relations in various fields with the countries of the region and the world."

The meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Commonwealth of Independent States to strengthen security cooperation started today (Wednesday) in Tashkent and will continue tomorrow.
