The leader of Pakistan's Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, said that the government of Pakistan links its failures in ensuring security to Afghanistan.
Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman also mentioned that during his visit to Afghanistan last year, he had made significant progress with the Afghan government on issues related to borders, trade, and refugees.
The leader of Pakistan's Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam said: "There are 250 outposts from Quetta to Besham and Kohistan. Is this also the responsibility of Afghanistan? Where are we? Our army is on the borders! In this entire situation, it is not in our interest to place our responsibilities on others. We must focus on our own responsibilities."
The Islamic Emirate has not yet commented on these remarks by the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan.
This is not the first time that the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan has criticized Islamabad's approach towards Kabul. Previously, he also rejected claims made by Pakistani officials regarding the entry of terrorists from Afghanistan into Pakistan.
"Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman is an influential figure in Pakistan, and likewise in Afghanistan, he can play a supportive role in maintaining normal relations between the two countries," said Moeen Gul Samkanai, a political analyst.
During his visit to Kabul on January 8, 2024, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman had discussions with Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, the Prime Minister, and Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, the political deputy of the PM of Islamic Emirate, regarding the situation of Afghan refugees in Pakistan, resolving tensions between Kabul and Islamabad, and the issue of the TTP (Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan).
