Since the beginning of the current solar year, 650 tourists have entered Afghanistan via Sher Khan Port in Kunduz province.
According to officials, most of these tourists are citizens of European countries and the United States, who have chosen the provinces of Badakhshan and Bamyan as their main destinations.
Hafiz Ubaidullah, the consular affairs officer of the Kunduz Foreign Affairs Directorate, said: "Since the beginning of this year, 650 tourists from various countries have come to Afghanistan through Sher Khan Port and have visited various places in the country."
Some tourists who have come to Afghanistan express satisfaction with the security and the opportunity to visit the country's natural landscapes and beauty.
Alessandro, a tourist from Switzerland, said: "It is my first time coming to Afghanistan through Tajikistan. So far, everything is good. I need time and a plan to see different places. So far, I am safe, and everything is better than expected."
Mohammad Nilay, a tourist from Bangladesh, said: "This is my first time in Afghanistan. It looks nice, and I am heading to Kabul. Next time, I’ll check YouTube to explore more places. I plan to visit these places and then, Inshallah, return to my country, Bangladesh."
Alex, a tourist from Russia, said: "Today I came to Afghanistan through Tajikistan. I want to visit Mazar-e-Sharif, Herat, Kandahar, and Kabul. This is my travel plan in Afghanistan."
Officials have added that since the return of the Islamic Emirate to power, especially in the last two years, the number of foreign tourists visiting Afghanistan has increased.
