The Iran Human Rights Organization says that in the past month, Iran has executed seven Afghan citizens.
According to this organization, the individuals executed were accused of committing various crimes, including murder and rape.
The report from the Iran Human Rights Organization states: “In September, at least 13 Baloch prisoners, 10 Kurdish prisoners, 7 Gilak prisoners, 6 Turkish prisoners, and 6 Lurish prisoners were executed in Iranian prisons. Additionally, at least 7 Afghan nationals were executed last month.”
Several migrant rights activists are urging the Islamic Emirate to engage in talks with Iranian authorities.
Alireza Karimi, a migrant rights activist, said: "The Islamic Emirate should engage with Iranian officials about providing legal support to its citizens, delivering services, raising awareness, and cooperating with migrants to defend their rights and improve their living conditions so that Afghan migrants can live a normal life in Iran."
The spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate said that the executions in Iran have been shared with them, and they pledged efforts are underway to address these challenges.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, said: "We are in contact with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and we have emphasized that their treatment of migrants must be within the framework of the law. The executions and imprisonment of migrants have been shared with us, and they have said that they are working on it. Our effort is to ensure that those imprisoned there who are sentenced be transferred to Afghanistan."
Previously, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation of the Islamic Emirate said that 11,000 Afghan migrants are currently imprisoned in Iran and Pakistan.
