Khalid Zadran, spokesperson for the Kabul Police Command, said that in Wednesday's explosion in the capital, one person was killed, and eleven others were injured.
Zadran said that the individual carrying the explosives was injured in the incident and has been detained by Islamic Emirate forces.
According to Zadran, investigations are ongoing to apprehend other individuals involved in the incident.
The spokesperson for the Kabul Police Command said, “As a result of this explosion, a child was martyred, and eleven others, who are civilians, sustained minor injuries. The person transporting the explosives has been detained in an injured state by security forces, and investigations are underway to identify and bring all individuals involved in this incident to justice.”
Abdul Hadi, who was present at the site of the explosion yesterday, told a TOLOnews reporter, “Everyone was busy with their work when the explosion occurred. I was also there and saw the injured and the martyrs lying on the ground.”
Meanwhile, some other residents of the capital have called on security agencies to work toward ensuring lasting security in the country.
Ahmad Jawed, a Kabul resident, expressed this request: “They should work to prevent such incidents from happening again and keep our country peaceful so we can continue with our work and livelihood.”
Former President Hamid Karzai condemned the explosion in Kabul as an act of terror.
Karzai wrote on X: “I strongly condemn the explosion in the Cinema Pamir area of Kabul city, which led to the martyrdom and injury of several of our dear compatriots. This explosion is an act of terrorism.”
The Emergency Hospital in Kabul announced on Wednesday evening, after the explosion, that eleven injured individuals, including three children, two women, and six men, had been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
