Afghanistan Outshines India, Advances to ACC Asia Cup Final

The Afghanistan A Cricket Team secured its place in the final of the ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 by defeating the India A team in a thrilling match.

Winning the toss, the Afghan team chose to bat first. Outstanding performances from opening batsmen Sediqullah Atal and Zubaid Akbari helped set an impressive target of 207 runs for India within the 20-over limit. Sediqullah Atal led with 83 runs off 52 balls, while Zubaid Akbari contributed 64 runs from 41 balls, forming a formidable opening partnership that set a powerful foundation for the Afghan innings.

In the second innings, India began with an aggressive approach, but Afghanistan’s bowlers, led by Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar and Abdul Rahman, managed to restrict them to a total of 186 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. The Afghan bowling attack displayed skill and precision, securing a 20-run victory and preventing India from reaching the target.
