The Ministry of Vice and Virtue stated that in the past year they have repossessed and returned to their original owners over 30 residential properties and personal vehicles that had been in the possession of members of the Islamic Emirate.
Saif-ul-Islam Khyber, the spokesperson for this ministry, told TOLOnews that they are working to return all properties and personal vehicles held by Islamic Emirate members back to their rightful owners.
Khyber said: "I will share the annual statistics with you: approximately 18 residential houses and 16 personal vehicles have been returned to their owners."
The spokesperson said that the ministry is taking citizen complaints seriously.
Meanwhile, some experts expressed satisfaction with the ministry’s efforts and emphasized that all properties and vehicles in the possession of Islamic Emirate members should be returned to their rightful owners.
Jannat Faheem Chakari, a political analyst, said: "All governments, especially Islamic governments, are responsible for addressing the concerns of the people. Furthermore, the seizure of private homes by the state is a major concern that must be resolved, and all private properties of the people should be returned to them."
Gul Mohammaduddin Muhammadi, another political analyst, said: "Anyone who is Afghan and lives in Afghanistan, their assets — whether vehicles or residential homes — that have been under the control of Islamic Emirate officials were previously returned with the submission of legal documentation. I hope that, if legal documents are provided, the assets will be handed back to their owners."
Previously, some citizens reported that their houses were under the control of Islamic Emirate members.
