Islamic Emirate Says Delegation's Trip to Kazakhstan Highly Fruitful

The Islamic Emirate has described the recent visit of the Islamic Emirate’s delegation and private sector representatives to Kazakhstan as highly fruitful.

Hamdullah Fitrat, Deputy Spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, stated that contracts valued at $100 million dollars were signed between the private sectors of both countries across various fields during this visit.

Fitrat highlighted other important achievements, including agreements on enhancing bilateral cooperation in sectors such as trade, industry, mining, energy, agriculture, telecommunications, and healthcare.

He also noted Kazakhstan’s readiness to purchase cotton from Afghanistan as one of the key accomplishments of the delegation's visit to Kazakhstan.

Key achievements from the Islamic Emirate delegation’s visit to Kazakhstan include:

  • Signing agreements worth $100 million dollars between the private sectors of both countries.
  • Signing a roadmap for cooperation between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan in sectors such as trade, industry, mining, energy, agriculture, telecommunications, and healthcare.
  • Kazakhstan’s willingness to participate in railway construction projects.
  • Signing of contracts for over 2,000 tons of dried fruit between the private sectors of the two countries.
  • Initiating exports of fresh Afghan fruits to Kazakhstan, including pomegranates.
  • Kazakhstan’s readiness to purchase Afghan cotton.

The Deputy Spokesman of the Islamic Emirate said: “The Islamic Emirate has signed a roadmap for cooperation between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan in the fields of trade, industry, mining, energy, logistics, agriculture, telecommunications, health, higher education, and humanitarian aid. Contracts worth $100 million dollars have been signed between the private sectors of both countries across various fields.”

“If regional countries, including Afghanistan, proceed with such contracts and agreements with sincerity and dedication, there is no doubt that they will stand on their own economically, and their people will enjoy great prosperity,” said Abdul Shukor Hadawal, an economic analyst.

The Chamber of Commerce and Investment views these agreements and memoranda of understanding as impactful in fostering commercial, economic, and transit relations between the two countries and emphasizes the importance of their implementation.

Khanjan Alokozay, a member of the board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, stated: “The projects with signed agreements, especially those in energy, electricity, infrastructure, and transportation, are highly significant. Measures will be taken, but until these projects are implemented, the Afghan people will not benefit from their results. Especially concerning the railway line, if practical work begins, it will be a very large-scale project.”

“If the benefits of this agreement are realized, there is no doubt that Afghanistan’s existing issues in trade and transit will be addressed. Afghanistan’s trade and export levels to Central Asian countries will increase, and opportunities for Afghanistan’s entry into some global markets, particularly China, will be facilitated. Through these means, Afghanistan’s economy and trade will be significantly strengthened,” said Mir Shaker Yaqoubi, another economic analyst.

This visit took place when the Islamic Emirate delegation, led by the acting minister of Industry and Commerce, traveled to Kazakhstan on October 18, 2024, to participate in the second Afghan-Kazakh exhibition. In this exhibition, 250 Afghan traders showcased Afghanistan’s products and goods across various sectors for three days.
