The historical Pul-e-Khishti, over 300 years old in Faizabad, the center of Badakhshan, and the mausoleum of Ras al-Mulk in Wakhan District, are among significant historical monuments currently at risk of destruction.

Due to prolonged rainfall and officials' neglect over the years, these sites reportedly face the threat of collapse.
The Directorate of Information and Culture of Badakhshan reported that out of 29 registered historical sites, nine are in danger of destruction.

Zabihullah Amiri, head of the Department of Information and Culture of Badakhshan, said: "Twenty-nine historical monuments have been registered with the Ministry of Information and Culture. Of these, nine historical sites require essential restoration."

During a visit to Badakhshan to inspect some of the historical monuments, the Deputy Minister for Culture and Arts at the Ministry of Information and Culture pledged that these sites would be restored.

Atiqullah Azizi, the head of the Culture and Arts of the Ministry of Information and Culture, said: "We are committed to protecting and rebuilding them. Rest assured, these historical monuments in Badakhshan, especially this bridge, are among our top priorities."

Several cultural activists and residents of Badakhshan believe that maintaining and restoring these monuments will enhance the tourism industry in the province.

Ahmad Nabil Qazi Zada, a cultural activist from Badakhshan, said: "We hope the government will support and protect all historical monuments in Badakhshan."

Ahmad Javid, a resident of Badakhshan, remarked: "Historical monuments are at risk of destruction. We urge the government and supporting institutions to restore these sites."

According to information from the Directorate of Information and Culture of Badakhshan, 29 historical monuments are registered, five of which were restored during the previous government.
