New Demonstrations May Be Held by Chaman Protest Movement

The Chaman Protest Movement plans to launch a new demonstration on the 22nd of this month, aiming to secure their rights.

Protestors stated that this action will begin in response to the Pakistani government’s failure to meet their demands.

Asghar Khan, a representative of nationalist parties in Chaman, stated, “If the Pakistani government does not fulfill its promises by the 22nd of this month, then we, the nationalist parties, the Chaman Protest Movement, and the people, will take decisive steps on that day and demonstrate what we are capable of.”

Other members of the Chaman Protest Movement have warned that if the Pakistani government does not heed the demands of the residents of Chaman, there will be serious consequences.

Abdul Khaliq Haqmal, the leader of the Chaman Protest Movement, said, “If you continue to force these people, they will awaken their pride and honor, and they will storm government offices and military centers, making it impossible for you to drive down the roads.”

Ghausullah, a member of the Chaman Protest Movement, said, “If the people’s demands are not met, the current Pakistani authorities and Chaman officials will bear full responsibility for any resulting actions or incidents, and the people should not be blamed.”

The Chaman Protest Movement has been demonstrating for more than 13 months, protesting the mandatory passport and visa requirements at the Chaman-Spin Boldak crossing.
