Wakhan National Park in Badakhshan, with its springs, stunning natural attractions, wildlife, and rare bird species, has drawn the attention of both domestic and international tourists.
Some tourists who recently visited Wakhan district are urging officials in the interim government to provide more facilities for tourists.
Afiat Khan, a tourist, said, “Currently, tourism conditions in Afghanistan, especially in Wakhan district, are well-prepared, making it an excellent destination for tourists.”
“We urge the Islamic Emirate to provide more facilities for both domestic and international tourists so they can visit these areas,” said another tourist, Nematullah.
Meanwhile, the Head of Information and Culture in Badakhshan, who visited Wakhan National Park, pledged that facilities for both local and foreign tourists are available in the province.
“Guesthouses have been established in Wakhan and the national park, and tourists visiting the park can be assured of security, with no problems or obstacles in place,” said Zabiullah Amiri, head of Information and Culture of Badakhshan.
The Wakhan Corridor was designated as the country’s second national park in 2014 by the previous government. According to the Badakhshan Department of Environment, the area is home to nearly 30 species of rare wildlife and over 270 species of rare birds.
