Accused Murderer Executed in Paktia

Today (Wednesday), a retribution sentence was carried out on a man in Gardez city, the center of Paktia province.

The accused person was executed in Gardez stadium in the presence of several officials from the Islamic Emirate, including Sirajuddin Haqqani, the acting Minister of Interior, as well as many Paktia residents.

Abdul Rahim Rashid, the spokesperson for the Supreme Court, stated that since the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, six individuals have faced retribution sentences.

The Supreme Court spokesperson said: "The divine sentence of retribution was carried out on a murderer in Paktia. This killer had murdered a person using a Kalashnikov weapon."

Hasibullah Hanifi, a religious scholar, commented on the retribution law, saying: "Implementing Islamic laws in an Islamic system, including Hudud (fixed punishments), Tazir (discretionary punishments), and Qisas (retribution), is a principle and must be enforced. However, it is essential to take conditions into account, such as ensuring judges have complete religious knowledge, examining criminal cases meticulously, and considering circumstances."

Witnesses of this event believe that if retribution and other Islamic rulings are applied justly, the current challenges in society will diminish, and crimes will be prevented.

"Today, what was commanded by God and decreed in the Holy Quran was carried out on this individual. People gathered today for this reason; when the killer was brought out, the plaintiff killed him with three shots," said Mohammad Ajan, a Paktia resident.

"He should have been forgiven; however, when forgiveness was not granted, the Quran gives the right of retribution. The benefit of retribution is that no one in the country will commit such acts," said Abdul Wahab, another Paktia resident.

According to the information provided, the man’s name was Asad Ayaz, a resident of Mirzaka district, and he was sentenced to retribution for killing Habibullah, a resident of Tsamkani district in Paktia. Around three and a half years ago, he killed Habibullah with gunfire.
