Gul Hakim Khan: Sole Survivor of 16-Member Family in Barmal District

Gul Hakim Khan, a resident of Laman village in Barmal district, Paktika province, lost 15 members of his family in Pakistani airstrikes on Tuesday night.

Hakim Khan is the only surviving member of his 16-member family. He stated that the airstrikes destroyed many homes and inflicted significant financial losses on the local residents.

Describing the incident to TOLOnews reporters who visited the site, he said: “It was 10 PM when the jets came and bombed. Fifteen members of my family were martyred, including my brothers, sisters, and father. I am the only one left alive.”

Other residents of the village, who lost their loved ones or had their homes destroyed, said the attacks targeted women, children, and civilians.

“Sixteen people lived in that house. Among them, only one survived, and 15 were martyred. Across from their house, there was a mosque, which was also destroyed,” said Habibullah, a resident of Laman village.
 
“Only one person remains from that family. Their house is destroyed, their belongings are gone, and only the clothes on their back are left,” said Samargul, another resident of Laman village.

According to the residents and local officials, six houses, including a madrassa, were destroyed in the Pakistani airstrikes on this village.

The Pakistani airstrikes occurred on Tuesday night in parts of Barmal district, Paktika province, resulting in 46 deaths and dozens of injuries.
