Muttaqi Highlights Islamic Emirate’s Economy-Focused Diplomacy in UAE Visit

Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated during his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that the Islamic Emirate pursues an economy-focused policy.

Muttaqi also added that the Islamic Emirate seeks positive economic and political relations with all countries.

During this trip, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs met with Vikram Misri, the Indian Foreign Secretary and reiterated that Afghanistan poses no threat to any country.

Zia Ahmad Takal, the Head of Public Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said about the meeting: "The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs assured the Indian side that there is no threat from Afghanistan to anyone. He also expressed hope regarding the strengthening of diplomatic relations and facilitating processes for patients, businessmen, and students."

According to Takal, the Indian Foreign Secretary said in the meeting with Amir Khan Muttaqi that New Delhi seeks to expand political and economic relations with Afghanistan.

Furthermore, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate discussed regional issues, enhancing economic cooperation, and increasing trade volumes between the two countries during a meeting with Abdullah bin Zayed, the UAE's Foreign Minister.

The Head of Public Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added: "The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs requested the UAE provide visa facilitation for Afghans, and the Afghan government is ready to play its role effectively in this process."

"For us, both the UAE and India are major markets where high-quality goods are sold, and to a great extent, our fruits have an excellent market in these countries," said Mohammad Nabi Afghan, an economic expert,

This comes as the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs traveled to the UAE earlier this week, leading a delegation, to enhance bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and discuss other issues.
