Global Reactions to Israel-Hamas Ceasefire Agreement

Following the announcement of the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel, the United Nations, the European Union, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkey, Germany, France, Japan, Australia and other countries welcomed the agreement.

António Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel and called for its full implementation.

Guterres said: "I welcome the announcement of a deal to secure the ceasefire and hostage release in Gaza. I commend the mediators - Egypt, Qatar, and the United States of America - for their dedicated efforts in brokering this deal. Their unwavering commitment to finding a diplomatic solution has been critical in achieving this breakthrough. I call on all relevant parties to uphold their commitments and ensure that this deal is fully implemented."

Turkey, Pakistan, Germany, Italy, France, Japan, and Australia have also praised the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel.

Anthony Albanese, the Prime Minister of Australia, stated: “Australia welcomes the announcement of a ceasefire and hostage agreement in Gaza after 15 months of conflict and a devastating loss of civilian life. The Australian government has consistently been part of international calls for a ceasefire and for a release of hostages. This agreement is a constructive step towards peace and stability in the region."

The Islamic Emirate also congratulated Hamas on the ceasefire agreement with Israel and commended the efforts of the United States, Egypt, and Qatar in this regard.

Zia Ahmad Takal, head of public relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that based on previous agreements, the international community must ensure that Israel remains committed to this agreement.

The head of public relations said: "The ceasefire agreement marks the end of courageous resistance in Gaza and the historic 15-month struggle and sacrifices of the Palestinian people."

Following the announcement of the ceasefire agreement, the Palestinian people took to the streets with enthusiasm, celebrating the event as a significant step toward reducing tensions and violence.

One Gaza resident said about the agreement: "We are very happy about the agreement. It gives us hope for Gaza's future. The agreement guarantees that no more lives will be lost. After experiencing genocide, this agreement means saving lives. The end of the war brings us an indescribable joy."

The latest round of ceasefire talks in Gaza resumed on January 3 of this year in Doha, the capital of Qatar, mediated by the United States, Egypt, and Qatar. Finally, after two weeks of negotiations, Hamas and Israel agreed on a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages.
