Omar: 13 Power Supply Projects to Commence Soon

Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (Afghanistan's electricity company) has announced the upcoming inauguration of thirteen major electricity projects with a total generation capacity of 550 megawatts in the near future.

Abdul Bari Omar, the CEO of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, stated at an event in Kabul that with the launch of these projects, thousands of citizens across the country will have access to electricity.

The CEO of Breshna said: "In the near future, projects generating up to 550 megawatts of electricity will be inaugurated across different provinces and will be connected to the power grid."

Omar criticized the double standards of the international community towards Afghanistan, stating that while global powers provide billions of dollars in assistance to Afghanistan’s neighboring countries for energy production, they have even cut humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

He added: "Regarding electricity, the international community grants not just hundreds of millions but billions of dollars to some of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries. We do not envy this; they can give even more. But why do international organizations that claim to uphold humanity no longer consider the Afghan people as humans today?"

Omar also noted that since the Islamic Emirate regained power in Afghanistan, significant steps have been taken in electricity production—steps that had not been undertaken in the past twenty years.

Meanwhile, Safiullah Ahmadzai, chief operating officer of Breshna, said: "The leadership of Breshna is continuously striving to bridge the energy gap. By doing so, we can ensure 24-hour electricity for Kabul and neighboring provinces, extending even to Kandahar."

Additionally, the head of the governmental companies stated that the Islamic Emirate is making efforts to ensure political, security, and economic stability in the country.

Ahmad Jan Bilal, head of the governmental companies, said: "We are determined to achieve self-sufficiency in the economic sector, just as we have gained independence in political and military arenas."

According to Breshna officials, with the launch of the 15-kilovolt power station in northern Kabul, 25,000 people will have access to electricity. A newly extended power line with ten transformers has been set up, and work is ongoing to install thirteen more transformers.
