Baradar: Nations That Maintained Unity Achieved Great Goals

Some officials of the Islamic Emirate, in a meeting held today (Thursday) by the High Commission for the Shia Community at the Loya Jirga Hall, stressed unity and coexistence.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the deputy prime minister for economic affairs, stated at this meeting that the Islamic Emirate views ethnic diversity as a symbol of national unity.

He said that the presence of political parties in the past had led to the erosion of national unity among Afghans.

In his speech, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar said: "The unity and solidarity of all Afghans is the fundamental factor for the country's political and economic stability and progress. Nations that have preserved their unity and solidarity have been safe from internal conflicts and have easily achieved great goals."

Other officials of the Islamic Emirate also urged citizens not to be influenced by propaganda aimed at creating divisions among the people.

Noorullah Noori, the acting Minister of Borders, Ethnicities, and Tribes, stated: "We are talking with the Shiite community in a fraternal session and program, and this community expects and hopes for service from the system."

Aminullah Obaid, the governor of Kabul, said at the meeting: "In Kabul, all their demands, including ensuring security and dignity for our Shiite brothers, have been fulfilled."

Some Shiite community representatives at the meeting also highlighted the importance of addressing the legitimate demands of the people.

Asadullah Saadati, the former deputy of the high council for national reconciliation, told the attendees: "Whether as a nation or as those in policymaking positions in the government, we must see all Afghans equally and treat people with justice."

Mohammadi Ali Akhlaqi, the head of the Shiite commission, stated: "Disunity and division benefit no one, and no one gains from it. We have experienced this for decades."

Previously, the Ministry of Borders, Ethnicities, and Tribes had organized programs in Kabul and some provinces to strengthen national unity.
