Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting foreign minister, has traveled to Oman at the invitation of Oman's foreign minister, Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi.
The head of public relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zia Ahmad Takal stated that Muttaqi is expected to meet with senior Omani officials during this visit and discuss strengthening political and economic relations as well as expanding bilateral cooperation.
Takal said: "The country's foreign minister is set to discuss the expansion of political, economic relations, and bilateral cooperation not only with the Omani foreign minister but also with other senior officials of that country."
Meanwhile, some experts view Amir Khan Muttaqi's visit to Oman as beneficial for fostering engagement in various sectors between Kabul and Muscat.
"From a diplomatic perspective, there should be readiness for an agreement so that both sides can appoint ambassadors in each other's countries," said Hadi Quraishi, a political analyst.
"If efforts are made to attract Omani investors to Afghanistan, this visit can be considered positive and beneficial for securing further economic cooperation for Afghanistan," said Mir Shaker Yaqubi, an economic analyst.
Previously, Amir Khan Muttaqi led a delegation to the United Arab Emirates with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and addressing other matters.
