The Kabul Municipality said that over the past three years, more than 270 kilometers of roads have been constructed in various parts of the capital.
Nematullah Barakzai, a representative of the Kabul Municipality, also stated that work is currently underway on 82 other road construction projects in Kabul.
"In about three years, Kabul Municipality has built approximately 270 kilometers of new roads in Kabul, and our goal is to provide better quality services to our dear citizens,” Barakzai said.
Meanwhile, some residents of the capital have praised the renovation and reconstruction of roads, considering it an effective step toward progress.
Hamid, a resident of Kabul, told TOLOnews: "We are very happy. It is good that roads are being built, and we are hopeful for the country's progress."
"In any country where infrastructure is developed, it is natural that people's problems will be somewhat resolved,” stated Mohammad Ali, another resident of Kabul.
This comes as the Kabul Municipality recently announced the expropriation and demolition of more than 100 properties in the Joi Shir area of the capital.
The municipality stated that the purpose of expanding the Joy-e-Shir to Pul-e-Artal road is to reduce congestion in the underground area of Deh Afghanan.
