The leader of the Islamic Emirate once again emphasized the importance of enforcing the punishment of Qisas (retributive justice) in Afghanistan.
Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada, speaking at a seminar held in Kandahar for Hajj instructors, stated that Qisas, like other Islamic rulings, is obligatory and must be implemented.
The leader of the Islamic Emirate said: "Allah Almighty has commanded us to perform prayer and to enforce the Hudood (Islamic legal punishments), which must be implemented. Similarly, He has commanded us to carry out Jihad. These are all divine laws, but today no one allows us to enforce the commands of Allah Almighty."
In his speech, Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada claimed that Western countries are attempting to prevent the enforcement of Islamic rulings in the country.
He further stressed that the Islamic Emirate does not give importance to the opinions and criticisms of non-Muslims when it comes to the implementation of Sharia law.
On Friday, the Islamic Emirate carried out Qisas sentences against four individuals in the provinces of Farah, Nimroz, and Badghis—a move that drew criticism from several international organizations, including the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).
