The Department of Information and Culture in Herat stated that with the improvement of tourism services, the presence of foreign tourists in the province has increased.

According to the officials of this department, the number of foreign tourists in the province has increased by 25% compared to the previous year.

The construction of standard hotels, provision of security, guidance for tourists, and the creation of facilities at historical and sightseeing locations are said to be the main reasons for the growing interest of foreign tourists.

Wakil Ahmad Zahidmal, head of Afghan Tour in Herat, told TOLOnews: "Just as the name of these hotels is international, they also provide international services to their guests. In all areas, such as bedrooms, sitting areas, and food, standard services are provided to tourists."

Wahid Ahmad Afzali, a manager of one of the hotels, said: "Foreign tourists should come and see that such luxurious hotels have been built in Afghanistan, and we also have warm-hearted, hospitable, and friendly people. I hope that more luxurious buildings will be constructed in the future to attract more tourists."

According to the Department of Information and Culture in Herat, many facilities have been provided for the growth of the tourism industry in the province over the past three years. The officials of this department say that in the past year, the number of foreign tourists in Herat has increased by 25%.

Hamidullah Ghiyasi, director of Culture and Arts at the Department of Information and Culture in Herat, told TOLOnews: "Security is maintained throughout the country, and the provision of services and facilities for tourists has also been improved, including the standard and international hotels available for them."

Some tourists in Herat say that more facilities are needed for them to easily visit all the historical and sightseeing places in the province.

Gol Mohammad Achakzai, a resident of Kandahar province, said: "Good hotels and parks should be built. Now, security in Afghanistan is good, and visiting all areas of the country is pleasant, but Herat is the most pleasant."

The provision of more facilities for attracting foreign tourists is considered crucial. According to cultural experts, to attract more tourists, it is necessary to restore and preserve Herat’s historical and sightseeing sites.

Abdul Qayum Waziri, a cultural affairs expert, says: "Facilities such as standard hotels, standard restaurants, transport routes, and books to introduce Afghanistan's attractions are needed, and more work should be done in these areas."

With hundreds of historical remnants and sightseeing locations, Herat is a major destination for many foreign tourists. Local officials say that with improved security and the provision of facilities, the number of tourists in Herat is on the rise.
