Baradar, Minnikhanov Discuss Boosting Afghanistan–Tatarstan Economic Ties

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, met with Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan, to discuss the development of economic and trade relations between the two sides.

Baradar, who is leading a delegation to Tatarstan to participate in the 16th Kazan International Economic Forum, invited President Minnikhanov to visit Kabul and invest in Afghanistan’s infrastructure and energy sectors.

Khairuddin Mayel, Deputy of Trade at the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said: “Tomorrow, a major memorandum of understanding will be signed between the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, Russian entities, and private sectors from other countries.”

Meanwhile, the President of Tatarstan described the participation of Afghanistan’s high-ranking delegation at the Kazan forum as significant and announced that, to enhance bilateral relations, a Tatarstan delegation will be dispatched to Kabul.

Abdul Nasir Rashtya, an economic affairs expert, said:
“Russia is a large and reliable market for Afghan domestic products. The more facilities are provided and relations expand, the more we can boost our exports to Russian markets.”

More than 10,000 participants from 103 countries, including government officials, major businesspeople, investors, and bankers, attended the Kazan Forum.
