The Directorate of Information and Culture in Badakhshan said that the Topkhana Lakes, located in Zebak district, host hundreds of domestic and international tourists each year.

The area's landscape, weather, and the presence of spotted fish are among the main attractions drawing visitors.

Those who have visited the Topkhana Lakes describe it as one of the country’s unique natural wonders.

Farooq Ahmad, a tourist, told TOLOnews: “Many tourists come to this area and visit the lakes. It has a calm and pleasant atmosphere.”

Ehsanullah, another visitor, said: “I urge other tourists to come here so the tourism industry can grow, and so they can explore the beautiful places in Badakhshan and take home good memories.”

The Topkhana Lakes scenery and weather attract visitors particularly in spring and summer.

Sediqi Lalzad, head of tourism at Badakhshan’s directorate of information and culture, told TOLOnews: “We plan to enhance this recreational site in the near future to attract more domestic and international tourists.”

The directorate also noted that in recent years, the presence of both domestic and some foreign tourists has increased across various parts of the province, and efforts are ongoing to improve facilities for them.
