As part of the Islamic Emirate’s ongoing efforts to expand diplomatic ties with neighboring and regional countries, a high-ranking delegation led by Abdul Salam Hanafi, deputy administrative prime minister, departed for China today (Tuesday).
Abdul Salam Hanafi said that the purpose of the trip is to participate in the 9th China–South Asia Forum exhibition and to share the achievements of the Islamic Emirate with forum participants.
Abdul Salam Hanafi, deputy administrative prime minister, said: “The achievements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, its policies, and its desire to maintain good and positive relations with all neighboring, regional, and international countries will all be shared with the participants at this forum, God willing.”
Separately, another delegation led by Ataullah Omari, Acting Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, traveled to Russia on Monday evening.
The purpose of the Ministry of Agriculture’s visit is to attend the 2025 St. Petersburg Economic Forum, which brings together representatives from more than 140 countries to discuss key topics including economy, agriculture, environment, trade, and investment.
Ghulam Mohammad Kazem Shahamat, spokesperson for the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, stated: “During this conference, Minister Ataullah Omari will share Afghanistan’s perspectives on agriculture and economic development with representatives from over 140 countries.”
Meanwhile, economic experts view Afghanistan’s participation in such forums as an effective step toward attracting international cooperation and strengthening economic ties with the global community.
Mohammad Karim Azimi, an economic analyst, said: “Afghanistan can benefit greatly by leveraging its geopolitical position and upcoming economic opportunities. Recently, there have been increasing visits and exchanges with the Russian Federation and aligned countries, including Central Asian nations. This is a promising sign.”
Since the return of the Islamic Emirate to power, relations between the Emirate and countries such as China and Russia have expanded. Both countries have recently hosted significant meetings attended by senior officials of the caretaker government.
