16 Taliban Insurgents Killed In Ghazni

At least sixteen Taliban insurgents were killed in a clash with Afghan security forces early Wednesday in Ghazni province, local officials said.

Aminullah Amarkhail, Ghazni's police chief, said that the clash took place between Ab Band and Muqor districts after the Taliban attacked security forces check posts.

Two Taliban local commanders were also killed in the clash, Amarkhail added.

Meanwhile National Directorate of Security (NDS) said that a senior Taliban commander was arrested in Parwan province.

According to an NDS statement Barakatullah, a senior member of the shadow governor Qari Zabi’s group, in Shikh Ali district of Parwan province, was arrested in a joint public order and NDS forces operation.

Barakatullah was responsible for planning Taliban terrorist attacks in Shikh Ali district of Parwan province.

No more details were provided regarding the operation.
