At least two army soldiers were killed and three others were wounded in car bombs in southern Helmand province on Saturday night, local officials said on Sunday.
On 10:00 pm local time in Nahr-e-Siraj district two car bombs detonated close to security checkpoints, said Omar Zwak, a spokesman for the provincial governor.
“The forces had prior information about the car bombs, so they had made preparations,” said Zwak.
No group has claimed responsibility for the blasts.
