At least 31 Taliban militants were killed in a military operation carried out by security forces in southern Helmand province in past 24 hours, local officials said on Sunday.
Nine other insurgents were wounded in the operation, the officials added.
The operation was carried out in Bulan village in PD3 of Lashkargah city, the capital city of the province, officials said.
The Afghan air forces were also support the ground forces during the operation, officials said.
A number of weapons belonged to the Taliban were destroyed in the military operation, official added.
The officials did not provide more details about the operation.
