At least 6 Taliban were killed and 8 were wounded in attacks on security checkpoints in central Logar province, said the 203 Tandar Military Corps said in a statement on Monday.
The attacks took place at security checkpoints in Logar's capital Pul-e-Alam and Mohammad Agha district on Sunday, the statement said.
“The security forces have prevented the Taliban attacks,” it said, adding: “Fortunately, no security forces were hurt in the attack.”
The forces were aware of a possible Taliban attack on their checkpoints, the statement said
However, the Taliban have not yet commented on the clashes.
