Abdulwadod, a 63-year-old teacher from Ghazni, has graduated from the Pashto language faculty of the Burhanuddin Rabbani Education University – making him one of the oldest people to graduate in the country.
 
He said his graduation day was the “greatest day of his life”.
 
According to him, he finished school in 1972 but because of financial problems was not able to continue his education.
 
Two years ago he enrolled for the Pashto language course and has now graduated.
 
Abdulwadod has six sons and four daughters and all of them are educated. But he said none of his children’s graduation ceremonies were as exciting as his own.  
 
Abdulwadod said he will continue his education as he wants to get his master’s degree. 
 
He did however have to share his graduation day with one of his sons – who on the same day graduated from the engineering faculty at a university in Pakistan.
