At least eight members of the Afghan territorial army were killed after the Taliban launched an attack on their check point in Shahrak district of Ghor province, local officials in the province said on Tuesday.
6 other soldiers were wounded in the attack, said the officials.
Arif Abir, a spokesman for Ghor's governor, said that the attack happened at a checkpoint known as Qabristan in Shahrak district, stating that the checkpoint is still out of the control of government forces.
The Taliban have so far not commented.
