At least nine Taliban were killed and three others were wounded in an attack on security forces in central Ghazni province on Tuesday night, Afghan special forces commandos said in a statement on Wednesday.
The clashes took place in Arzo village in Ghazni city when the Taliban attacked security forces checkpoints, the statement said.
“The Taliban’s attack was pushed back by the commandos,” the statement said, adding that “nine Taliban including Abu Jandal, a Taliban group leader, were killed in the clashes and three others were wounded.”
However, the statement did not provide further details.
The Taliban has not commented on the clashes.
