Air Force Conducts 51 Flights As Offensives Continue

The Afghan Air Force (AAF) conducted 51 flights in the past 24 hours to support ground operations, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Friday.

The Air Force took part in 10 clearance and 21 special military operations in 10 provinces across the country in the past 24 hours, the ministry said.

The statement said 12 airstrikes targeted militants’ hideouts. 

The ministry said at least 66 militants, including 27 Daesh fightes were killed, 25 others wounded and four suspects werearrested. 

The insurgents were from Taliban, Haqqani network and Daesh militant groups, the ministry said.  

Many strongholds of the militants were destroyed and some vehicles belonged to terrorists were damaged during the operations, the statement added.  

The operations were lunched in Nangarhar, Logar, Paktia, Uruzgan, Zabul, Herat, Farah, Badghis, Faryab, Baghlan, Takhar, Jawzjan, Nimroz and Helmand provinces, the statement said. 

According to the statement, the military operations were carried out to ensure the safety of the people and clear the areas of militants.
