Mahbubullah Sayede, the district governor for Qala-e-Zal district in Kunduz province, said Taliban insurgents carried out a group attack on Aqtepa in Qala-e-Zal district on Friday morning and heavy clashes are still ongoing in the area.

Sayede said that Aqtepa collapsed to the Taliban. He also said clashes between the security forces and the Taliban are ongoing in both the district council compound and in the district police headquarters.

Sayede said that there is urgent need for reinforcements.

Security officials have not comment yet.

So far there are no reports on casualties.
