At least three civilians were killed and eleven others were wounded in an explosion near a football field in Nadir Shah Kot district in Khost province on Monday afternoon, Ministry of Interior said.
According to the ministry, the incident occurred around 4:20 pm local time in the district's Khowaja Rahimi village when explosives placed in a motorbike detonated.
Talib Khan Mangal, the provincial governor’s spokesman, also confirmed the incident.
The explosives were placed on a motorbike that was stopped near the football field, the spokesman said.
No group has claimed responsibility for the blast.
This comes two days after the US-Taliban agreement was signed in Doha and the weeklong reduction in violence was observed.
