Hashim Karzai, the cousin of former president Hamid Karzai, died on Monday from injuries sustained during Tuesday’s deadly bombing in Kandahar city.
His relatives confirmed he died in a hospital in India where he had been receiving treatment for his injuries.
Hashim Karzai’s death now puts the official death toll at 12 after an explosion ripped through a guesthouse in Kandahar on Tuesday evening.
Among the dead was Kandahar’s deputy governor and five UAE diplomats.
Hashim Karzai was the head of Afcor, a construction company in Kandahar.
