Ghulam Haidar, Nangarhar's deputy prosecutor died in a blast on Wednesday morning in Nangarhar province, local officials said.

Provincial governor spokesman Ahmad Zia Abdulzai confirmed the incident. He said Haidar's vehicle appeared to have hit a road side mine in Bahsod district. The incident happened after he left home and was on his way to work.

Haidar's driver was also killed in the blast, Abdulzai said.

In a separate incident, a Bati Kott district local police supply officer Khan Wali and a civilian were wounded in a blast in Kama district, said Abdulzai.

The victims were taken to a nearby hospital.

No insurgent group including the Taliban has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
