Du Ab District of Nuristan Falls into Taliban Hands ‎

According to Hafiz Abdul Qayoum, Nuristan's governor, Du Ab district has fallen into the hands of the Taliban after three days of fighting with security forces.

Provincial officials have asked the central government several times to send backup and support, but was ignored. They say the result of this is because of the lack of support from the central government.

During the clash three Afghan forces including eight Taliban insurgents were killed, Qayoum said.

No details have been provided on civilian casualties.

The Taliban insurgents have yet to comment.
