At least eight people were killed in an explosion at a youth peace convoy in Charkh district in central Logar province on Thursday afternoon, local military officials confirmed.
In addition, four other people were wounded.
The blast took place at about 12:30pm local time after a peace convoy had gathered in the district center, officials said adding that the “type of explosion is not yet clear.”
Officials did not provide further details.
No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibly for the explosion as yet.
