Govt Approves Contracts Worth 6.6 Billion AFs

Government approved four new contracts at the latest meeting of the National Procurement Commission chaired by President Ashraf Ghani, the Presidential Palace (ARG) said in a statement on Monday.

According to the statement, ARG said the meeting between commission members and the president was held at the palace on Sunday evening.

ARG said the commission members and the president reviewed the contracts for 20 projects worth a total of 1.3 billion Afghanis and approved four of them, worth 6.6 million AFs.

The contracts approved include the reconstruction and repair of 34km of the Kabul-Ghazni highway, the procurement of medicines and reform packages for the Ministry of Higher Education and medical facilities for the Ministry of Public Health.

Other contracts approved at the meeting include the procurement of 127 uniforms for the Ministry of Defense and the construction of complex in Khost province.

Also in attendance at Sunday’s meeting were members of parliament’s anti-corruption commission, and its budget and financial affairs commission along with a Resolute Support Mission representative and members of other monitoring groups.
