Kabul Rocked by Blasts, Residents Demand Security

Kabul has witnessed four IED blasts over the past four days in which three people were killed and 13 more were wounded, including military personnel, residents in the capital city said on Tuesday, accusing the security agencies of failing to thwart the attacks.

But the Interior Ministry has said that the police is doing all that it can to protect the people.

On Tuesday morning, an IED targeted a car belonging to the National Directorate of Security (NDS) in the Taimani area in PD15 of Kabul.

“We heard the explosion at 7:00am, we rushed outside and saw two or three people lying there and two others were martyred,” said Haseeb, an eye witness.

“I don’t understand why the government is not preventing such attacks, why they are not patrolling,” said Fayez, an eye witness.

“Our children are tired of this situation, if this trend continues, people will no longer trust this government,” said Abdul Wahid Saboori, a former military officer.

“it is really shameful when you see this situation in the capital, I don’t know what will be the situation in the provinces,” said Mangal, a resident of Kabul.

“The government and the security agencies should have a specific plan to ensure the0 security of the people,” said Ibrahim Asim, a political analyst in Kabul.
