University Attack: Victim’s Family Calls for Peace

The family a victim of the Kabul University attack called on the warring factions to cease further hostilities and help restore peace and security in the country.  

On November 3, 22 people among them 18 highly talented students were killed and over 40 others were wounded after two gunmen attacked Kabul University. The attack ended after six hours.   

Mohammad Ali, 24, was one of the students who was killed in the attack. He was student of Public Administration School.

“We do not want anything from the government, but it should stop make efforts to stop the killing of people's sins. Their own children are abroad, but other people are killed daily. We want peace, not war,” said Fatima, Mohammad Ali’s mother.  

Ali’s mother said that she raised her son with lots of difficulties to get educated and serve the country.  

“Whenever I was waking up, I noticed that the light is on and he (Mohammad Ali) was studying. I was telling him to go to sleep, but he always told me that mom let me study,” added Ali’s mother.

Ali belonged to a poor family and his father says he hardly managed to pay expenses of his stationary.

“I was not able financially to pay the money for his books. He was asking me only for 10 to 20 Afs daily. He was making a copy of the books from his friends,” said Ali’s father Musa.
