A massive fire broke out in raisin shops at Kabul’s Mandawi market on Tuesday morning, destroying a number of shops.
The exact extent of the damage is not yet clear. There are also no details as yet on the cause of the fire.
Eyewitnesses said however, firefighters were quick to arrive at the scene in a bid to control the fire.
The Mandawi market is in central Kabul and is one of the largest markets in the city – selling everything from fresh produce and dried fruits to clothing and footwear.
No casualties have yet been reported.
