A Nangarhar man has been arrested in connection with the death of at least six members of his uncle’s family, local officials said Wednesday.
Officials said the man killed his relatives on Tuesday night in Behsod district of Nangarhar province.
According to officials, the man, Zarif, was armed with a firearm when he entered his uncle’s house and started shooting.
He killed his uncle, Salam, his uncle’s wife and four of their sons – who were aged between 20 and 35 years old.
In addition, two children were also wounded in the shooting, officials said.
Nangarhar police said the suspect was arrested after the shooting and immediately confessed to the crime. According to officials the man said he had done it due to personal disputes.
This incident comes after Sunday’s shooting which saw a husband shoot his wife, his father and his mother over a domestic dispute.
According to police, this suspect, Noor Mohammad, shot his family in PD5, in Abdulhaq area of Jalalabad city.
