Afghanistan’s intelligence agency—the National Directorate of Security (NDS) - said on Thursday that it has arrested at least ten suspects, who are Daesh members, believed to have plotted the suicide attack on Sakhi Shrine in Kabul.
At least 14 people were killed in the October attack.
According to the NDS, the ten-member group had been involved in suicide attacks on Muharram mourners and the recent attack on a VIP department vehicle.
“The ten-member group under the command of Obaidullah had been involved in suicide attacks on the Muharram mourners at Sakhi Shrine and the vehicle carrying the employees of VIP department, they wanted to carry out a coordinated attack on Kart-e-Se mosque and some other key locations in Kabul city,” a statement released by the NDS read.
